About:Policy for Foreigners with Immediate Family Living in China

What type of visa should I apply for if may wife is a Chinese?

My wife is Chinese citizen. I am US citizen. We were recently married in China. I am back in US now, but want to spend at least 3 more months in China with wife.

What type and what information should I provide?

You are suggested to apply for a Q type to stay in China and Q1 is suggested to apply if possible. With Q1, you can stay longer, but the embassy/consulate has the final right to decide to issue you Q1 or Q2.

For applying it, you need to prepare your valid passport, application form with recent taken photo, an invitation letter from your wife, photocopy of your wife's ID card and your marriage certificate to apply for Q type at your nearby embassy or consulate.
