Is 6 hour layover enough to do anything in Guangzhou airport?

I have a flight that has a 6 hour layover in Baiyun airport, and wanted to know if that's enough time to go into the city? The flight is with Hainan Airlines - do you know if they'll hold the luggage during the layover?
