The mimimum duration for Q1 is around 180 days.
For applying, you need to provide the invitation letter from your spouce, your spouce's ID card, your marriage certificate and other documents the embassy requires.

For the bank statement, there is no specific requirements for the minimum amount on it. But generally speaking, the more it has, the longer duration of stay you can get.

According to the rules, working is not permitted if you apply Q1, but I know some people do it. If you do it, you will be fined if you are checked by local authorities.
