72-hours Visa-free Transit for a Canadian in Vietnam

Hello, I am a Canadian settled (staying) permanently in Da Nang, Vietnam with a valid 3 months visa from Vietnam
I am flying from Da Nang via Hanoi to Shanghai this August 16th for a short trip to visit friend. I didn't buy my fly back to Vietnam yet.
I had the intentions to stay 5-6 days however reading on this 72-hours free Transit, I believe I qualify for that and I may go for that instead (only 3 days stay, only in Shanghai), avoiding lost time, money and hassles.
So my question is: With all due respect, can I really trust your information on your site, is it recently updated?
If yes then I’m OK.
