About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Honolulu - Hong Kong - Shanghai - Honolulu

I want to fly from Honolulu to Hong Kong then to Shanghai before coming back to Honolulu, Hawaii. Do I qualify for the 72 hour permit in Shanghai? Or would it be better for me to go Honolulu to Shanghai then to Hong Kong?

If you stay in Shanghai for less than 72 hours, you are qualified for that policy. It is not necessary to change your route.

Thank you....was looking at flights and might change it if possible. Would we still qualify for the 72-hour free transit if we flew Hawaii-Shanghai-Taipei-Hawaii?
