About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Manila- Shanghai - Honolulu

My flight is already booked - HNL - SHANGHAI- 4hr layover- MANILLA, return MANILLA- SHANGHAI- 4 days in SHANGHAI - HNL. Is a VISA required or does MANILLA qualify for either 72 hr or 144 hr transit?

As long as your passport is from one of the 53 countries listed this qualifies as two separate transits

Paul- thank you for your reply- but to clarify, your Passport origin is what qualifies you for the non Visa transits, not the cities in your routing? So I know Shanghai is a transit city but not MANILLA but passport from U.S. so good??

Correct based on the passport you are traveling on, so if US passport you can transit Shanghai to and from Manila. Philippines passport would not be eligible as their passport is not issued by one of the 53 approved countries
