About:Simatai Great Wall

Is the Wangjing tower reopened?

Hello, I'm planning on visiting the Simatai section of the wall next week, with the 4-year closure and recent reopening it looks like the information out there is all mixed. So I would like to know if all of the Simitai section is now open? And is the famous Wangjing tower accessible?

Also this page mentions that opening time is 9.00 am, is there a way to access the wall earlier? At this time of the year the sun is already high up by 9 am and we'd like to see the wall during sunrise. If someone has been there since reopening, we'd be very interesting in your experience. Thank you.

Hi, Simatai section of the wall is open now, but Wangjiang Tower is not accessible. But I am afraid you can only enter when it is 9:00 am and as I know, appointment is required.

Thank you. That's what I was afraid of, the best part of Simatai is not longer available.
