About:China Visa Application in USA

I'm receiving conflicting information for 1.23, 2.2, 2.6, 2.8. Need clarification.

We'll be on a cruise ship docking in Beijing for 3 days (we'll have 2 nights in a hotel) and then sail to Shanghai for disembarkation. We'll stay 3 nights in Shanghai. One day we are flying to Xian and back. Will fly home on the 4th day. Do we need an invitation and if so, from whom? Will this be a single entry or double? Major family members - only list those cruising with us (husband) or do we need to tell our children's names also? We will provide hotel names, addresses, phone number and airline flight information to Xian and back home.

Sharon, I think you should apply for a double-entry one. If you can't provid the invitation letter, you should provide return air ticket and hotel reservation in China for your L type application. When you fill the application form, you should write down your children's names too.
