Do I need to stay in Beijing?

Hello,

I will be in Beijing from July 8-11 on my way to New York. I am a Canadian citizen. I would really like to visit Datong during my time in Beijing, is it possible to spend one night in Datong, or am I required to stay in Beijing for all three nights?

Hi, free transit in Beijing means you can not visit other city. BTW, make sure your stopover is less than 72 hours for this transit.
