i need an s1 visa but won't qualify for one until 3 days before i travel - any

Question

My future wife (British) is currently working in China on a Z complete with residence permit.  In June 2014 she will return to England for one month during which we have planned our wedding for the 26 July.  We intend to go to China on the 28/29 of July when we will be married.  We have to return as she is required back at work.  At the moment it appears that I can only apply for a tourist L for a maximum of 90 days, after which .... what?  We intend to return to Europe in January 2015 as her contract expires so an S1 (180+ days) would be ideal.Anybody any ideas please?Graham Rice

Hi, you may request for rush service for processing through CVASC after your marriage registration. Otherwise, you can only get a tourist L as you said. Anyway, tourist L can be extended within China after entry, but you need more paper work including to get your marriage certificate authenticated by Chinese embassy in the UK. In short, it is better to apply for S1 type directly using rush service.
