About:How to Buy Tickets

Can I buy a ticket in, for example, Beijing from Pingyao to Xi'an?

I read that the soft-sleeper beds are out of stock most of the time. So I would like to reserve some in advance. I would like to know if it's possible to book several traintickets ahead? I prefer to buy them at the regular ticket office, so I don't have to pay commission.

yes, you can book them in advance. Chinese railway tickets are available 20 days in advance. you can book at any railway stations with your original passport.
