About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Can I apply for a Chinese Tourist Visa as a German citizen in Japan?

I´m a German student doing an internship in Japan. I want to visit a friend in China (Shanghai) for about 2 weeks. Thank you!

Yes, you can apply for it in Japan in person from Chinese embassy or consulate according to the location where you stay.
