About:Xitang Water Town

From Nanjing to Xitang.

I am staying near xinjiekou in Nanjing. Which train or bus station should I go to, to go to XT? Or is it faster and cheaper to go to Hangzhou first, then go to XT from there? if so, what are the train stations in Nanjing and Hangzhou I should go? Or can anyone suggest the best way as I am quite confused with the buses and trains.

From Xinjiekou Station, you can take the local subway line 1 to reach NJ South Railway Station. There you can find a bullet train for Jiashan South Railway Station. Get out of the station, you can find the direct bus for Xitang. This the best method.

Or you can reach Jiaxing first. Then go to the Jiaxing North Bus Station to take a bus for Xitang. In this method, you can go to Xinjiekou Station to take the subway line 1 to NJ Railway Station to take the train.

Hi Petson

Thanks. I read in some internet forums that Jiashan Station is the one served by buses and Jiashan South Railway Station is very out of the way. I suppose those were outdated comments and now things have changed and the south station does have a bus which goes to Xitang directly? Is that correct? Any idea what is the bus number to take?

Thanks again.

The Jiashan South Railway Station is very far from Jiashan county, but close to Xitang.
A new public bus line K222 can take you to Xitang from the south railway station directly. The buses are at 07:35, 07:55, 09:15, 09:45, 11:00, 11:20, 13:35, 14:20, 15:10, 16:10, 17:10, 18:50, 19:40 and 20:30.
Just outside the south railway station, you can find the bus station.

Petson from Indonesia has posted the K222 bus schedule leaving from Jiashan South Railway Station. I am thinking of making trip to Xitang soon and would like to know the following if you have been there:
1. How long does the bus trip between Jiashan South Railway Station to Xitang takes?
2. What are the times do this same bus leaves from XT back to Jiashan South Railway Station?

I did not make it there because of bad weather. It was raining and not favourable for travelling and outdoor sightseeing. Of course I was disappointed.

2. Buses for the back trip are scheduled from 08:15 to 19:30 every 30-60min!

Helen, sorry to hear that you didnt make it there. Nonetheless, I hope the rest of the trip was good. Thank you very much for the information shared. I intend to be there end of August and just checked that it might be rainy at that time. Hopefully, it would be dry for me and my family when we are there.
