Itinerary for Zhangjiajie

After reaching the ZJJ, you are suggested to head for Phoenix Ancient City first. The bus for Phoenix in around 4 hours and then spend the rest of the day and half a day on May 29 in Phoenix Ancient City. Then take the last bus from Fenghuang ZJJ. Stay overnight in ZJJ. Then spend the rest of the time in the Forest and Tianmenshan area.

In ZJJ, the ZJJ International Youth Hostel is suggested. In Fenghuang, Fenghuang Zhongtian International Youth Hostel and FengHuang Old Town Intl Youth Hostel are suggested for you.

4 hours journey seems too much and actually take up the whole days of 28th and 29th. That may not give us sufficient time for the National Park.
Is there faster mode to and return from Phoenix Ancient city?

To be honest, there is no better method if using public buses.
The other method is transfer at Jishou, however, it may takes longer time.
If you really want to save the time, you are suggested to hire a local car to reach that town directly. The car may takes around three to three hours and a half.
