Chinese visa Japan

Hi, I am a Swedish passport holder and I will visit japan for 6 weeks soon. I want to go to china after this and I wonder what I should do to get it in Tokyo? I have a invitation letter from a Chinese friend. What else do I need beside the application form?
I read that I need hotel reservation..? Do I need this even though I have invitation?

Hi, you can apply now in advance in Sweden because a single entry Chinese visa is issued with a validity of 3 months. Flight ticket, application form, photo, passport and copy are required. Hotel reservation is not required if you will stay with your friend in his/her place.

Thanks for quick answer!
The thing is that I'm traveling at he moment and don't have the opportunity to go home before I go to china.
That means I dont need hotel reservation if I apply in Tokyo?

It is possible for you to apply in person from the Chinese embassy in Tokyo. If for tourist L application, round-trip ticket and hotel booking are required.

Ok, for how many nights do I have to book? I will stay at my friends home so I don't really get why I need reservation..? Is it enough with first night?

Hi, if you stay with your friends, then hotel booking are not required. But make sure the letter should contain following details:
(1) Information on the applicant (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.)
(2) Information on the planned visit (arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, etc.)
(3) Information on the inviting individual (name, contact telephone number, address, signature of the inviting individual)
