About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Can I get transit visa at Shanghai Pudong , and leave then from Shanghai Hongqiao within 72 hours

I am travelling to Singapore via Shanghai and Hong Kong. I arrive at Shanghai Pudong- Where do I go to get it? in Pudong airport terminal? - the airline (Virgin Atlantic) says they dont arrange this and have referred me to CN embassy- but I think this not necessary according to your website? after 70 hours I fly to HK via Shanghai Honqiao.
I transit HK for 5 hours and fly on to Singapore - spend week in Singapore and return UK.
I have e-tickets confirmation docs for onward journeys and up to date passport etc. My main concern is having correct transit G, if possible before journey so I can exit Shanhai airport, stay in hotel and see city etc.
Would the hotel do the police registration - or do I have to go myself to police station?

Hi, it is ok for you to avail 72-hr free transit in Shanghai. You need to apply for a transit permit after arrival at Pudong airport, which is ok for use to go out to the city and leave from Hongqiao airport as well. Hotels will do the police registration, so it is convenient.
