How do you tell if a price is firm vs negotiable if shopping along the Shanghai Nanjing Road? Thank you

Bargain is not available in most shopping malls along the Nanjing Road.
If you go shopping around the Yuyuan Garden area, you can bargain and most of the items needs to bargain to get a reasonable price.
