About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I am traveling from Los Angeles to Taipei and then to Taipei to Shanghai to Los Angeles

I am staying less than 72 hours in Shanghai, but since I am coming from Taipei, does this cause any problems or will I be able to use the 72 hour transit visa?
