About:Chinese Embassy in Myanmar

Can I apply for a new Chinese visa for re-entry when I arrive in Yangon?

I am UK passport holder travelling to Myanmar. I am travelling to Myanmar from China for 1 week. As I have spent 1 week prior to this in China, I have used up my last one, so I have no one left in passport to re-enter to PRC. I need to return to PRC to get my flight back to the UK. I would need this to be processed within 5 days. Is it straight forward to apply just as I would in the UK?

May I know which city you will transfer at when you take flight back to UK? If you transit in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Dalian, Chengdu or Chongqing for less than 72 hours, you won't apply for any type in advance.

If you plan to stay less than 72 hours in China, then you need to apply for a L type. I am not sure if you can apply for it successfully in Myanmar. People like you must provide their legal residence certificate, employment or study status or any other kind certificate of legal stay. You may confirm this with the consular office of Chinese embassy at 221280, 221926 (phone number).

Hi. I am in shanghai now, arrived today on business visa. I fly from London to Shanghai for business several times a year and so usually apply in UK. I normally only stay in shanghai, however, this trip I need to go to Myanmar for one week. My company sent my passport to Beijing today to get Myanmar visa and this will be returned to me on Friday to fly to Yangon on Sunday. The planned flight is shanghai/kunming/yangon. But cannot return via kunming. All I wish to know is if I can apply for normal business type in china embassy Yangon within 5 days so that I can return with ,my colleagues via kunming.

It is possible for you to get a business type in Yangon anyway. As what Cathy said above, if you fly from Yangon back to Shanghai then catch flight to UK within 72 hours, visa is not required and you just need to apply for free transit permit showing your passport and flight ticket for leaving.
