From your hotel, there is no bus to the Laoshan mountain, but you can use the public bus to the Central Railway station, Jimo Lu Market. To the Taidong Market, you need to transfer.

In my opinion, you can walk to the Zhong Han Xiao Shang Pin Cheng Station to take the bus line 305 to QD Railway Station. From the railway station, you can easily find buses for reach the Jimo Lu Market, Taidong Market, the old QD residence and the pier and even Laoshan.

thanks Bill, I appreciate your assistance. Do you have any idea how long it will take to get to QD railway station and how regularly the buses to the station run and what time is the last bus to return to the hotel

I'm from QD but I am in the U.S now, I completed my High School in Brisbane tho, Hey OZ!

Where you live is kind of far from downtown QD, by taxi is around 100 yuan for local like me, I have no idea how much they'll charge you. There are buses from Cheng yang to QD will take around 40 mintues or so to get to downtown qingdao, or maybe even longer.

The best solution and not getting charged by the taxi is to seek assistance from the hotel, or local friends. Well, where you live is considering rural area of QD, I have no idea why you would live in Chengyang.

I meant not getting charged extra, sometimes the taxi driver will run without meters on to Downtown of the city, I understand that because they have to drive back to Chengyang, sometimes without customers. Therefore they might charge more than local traffic.
