About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Travelling to Macau and Hong Kong on a US passport.

Traveling NYC to Beijing to Hong Kong then return going Hong Kong to Shanghai to NYC. Can I stop in Beijing going to Hong Kong and then stop in Shanghai when returning home. Stopping no more than 72 hours in either city.

Yes, you can do this to avail 72 hr free transit. Just book tickets in advance.
