Visting Khara Khoto (Heicheng) and Badain Jaran Desert (Badajilin Shamo)?

Hi,

How can I best visit Khara Khoto (Heicheng) and Badain Jaran Desert (Badajilin Shamo)?

I understand I need permits to visit? Can I visit alone or must I book a tour with an agency?

Can you recommend an agency based in Hohhot? Preferably in English but Chinese is ok.

1. It is best to rent a sport van to travel between, but it may cost much!
2. With the entry permit, you can have a visit. No need to join a tour with a travel agency, so you can surely travel alone!
3. Sorry, I am not clear about the travel agency there!
