About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Application form for 72-Hour Visa-Free Transit?

I will have a layover for 6 hours from Cambodia-Shanghai-New York at Pu Dong International airport. I would like to go outside and see Shanghai for few hours with my children and wife (all have US passports). What is the procedure? Do I need to complete any form? I just visited China in November 2013 and my current one is good for 12 months. When I exit the airport, can I get out with my family or do I have to go to different exit? Thank,

You needn't fill any form. But I am afraid that your 12 months valid visa will be void. Or you might remind the immigrant officers of granting 72 hours free transit to you instead of stamping on your 12 months new one. I am not sure if your 12 months type will be kept until you come to PRC next time. You needn't go through different exits. It's ok for you to go out and enter the airport together with your families.
