For those with faint heart I highly recommend hiring your own car(4-wheel type) and have the driver under constant control at all time(if he/she does not listen). The roads are all mountaineous, narrow and bents are plentiful & scarely. I did it some 10 years ago in July month. Should only go in dry season to avoid mud slides, and safer for obvious reasons.
Try the wild gigantic mushrooms which I found comparable to the expensive(1000 time more) Italian/French ones. They are unqiue to this region. Have 'village' dinner by the lake in early evening. Very romantic.
Good luck, and Enjoy the trip of the life time. It's definitely worth it.
