About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

72 hour travel visa

I am traveling form the USA to NZ, can I enter Shanghai for 60 hours but my flight out has to leave shanghai airport via Beijing to NZ. Is this ok ? All travel is still under 72 hours and in transit in beijing

No, this is not a direct transit actually. You have to apply for a Chinese transit G type one in advance from Chinese embassy/consulate.
