About:Chinese Consulate in New York

I am Australia and on vacation in u.s. And decided to travel to china from here

Do I go through same application process as u.s. Resident ?

Seriously, I don't know if you can apply for it sucessfully. If you plan to apply in the USA, you should provide legal resident permit there. If possible, I think you should apply from your own country.
