About:Chinese Consulate in Toronto

Medications allowed in Beijing

I am travelling to Beijing for 4 days and would like to know what medications are not allowed in that country
also, do I need a Visa, I am a Canadian citizen

Yes, you need to apply for a Chinese visa in advance.

The regulations only show that the drugs, stupefacient medicine and psychotropic drug are forbidden to be taken in. As for the specific ones, the customs will check whether they are ok to take in!

I travelled last year for 16 days in China. I took all my meds, one of which is a narcotic. Bring samples of all your meds in prescription bottles to show they are prescribed by a doctor. If still uncertain have your doctor write on his prescription pad that you are required to take the following medications upon his direction....and have him list them and their strength and then sign it...but make sure you write legibly on the back his name and a phone number or fax he can be reached at.
