Q1 visa questions

Hi, I am Indonesian married with Chinese and currently holding Q1. The embassy advise to apply Temporary Residence Permit within 30 days of stay, but I'm planning to stay in China for 23 days only. Do I still have to apply Temporary Residence Permit upon my arrival in China?

Yes, you need to apply for temporary residence permit after entry. Because the Q1 will expire after 30 days. And the permit will work as a multiple entry visa thereafter. That is to say, you can use the permit to reenter China within its validity.

Yes, you need to apply for residence permit. I know you will leave before 30 days, but you can use the valid residence permit to reenter China again when no visa is required any more.
