About:China Family Reunion Visa

Which visa ? Q1 or Q2?

I want to enter China with the purpose of applying for a resident permit . Does it matter which visa I apply for, Q1 or Q2? Also, do I have to apply in the hometown where my wife is from? Or is anywhere okay?

To get a resident permit, it has to be Q1 visa and you should apply for Q1 visa in your home country.

You can apply at Macao visa center and the residence permit should be applied at the exit and entry administration in the city which you will live in China.
