too much time at guangzhou

Question

i have a nine hour transfer from a domestic flight (from wuhan) to an international one (to melbourne).  I have a Chinese visa, but will I be able to check my bags somewhere and go explore GZ for a few hours? (I hear the bottom of Baiyunshan is accessible by train.)  Or will I be stuck in the airport?

As you have Chinese visa, you are surely allowed to get out of the airport to explore the city with luggage left in the airport. To Baiyunshan, you can take Subway Line 3 and get off at Meihuayuan Station. Walk about 1,200 meters to the Plum Garden of White Cloud Mountain.
