Shenzhen to Haikou, how?

I want to go from Shenzhen to Haikou.There was an overnight ferry but this has stopped. What is the best route, bus train etc without flying please?

If you don't mind, I recommend you take the direct long-distance bus from SH to Haikou. It can be taken at local Futian Bus Station, where the buses are scheduled at 10:50, 12:30, 14:00, 15:30, 16:50, 17:35 and 18:50 and it takes 15-16 hours for the whole journey. I remember the bus fare is CNY280-300 per person.
