beijing to lhasa train free and easy

heyy im a singaporean and will be traveling for beijing to lhasa via train. i understand that for singaporean u dont need visa for mainland china except for tibet. is it possible to obtain a tibet permit if i dont join any tour group?. would love to travel by myself free and easy
