Where are you living at? and what purpose of your visit to China? Anyway, if you hold US passport, you are advised to apply for it in advance in USA.

I am currently deployed in Iraq going on my R & R to the Philippines then off to China for a 4 day visit. The reason I ask is because there is no way for us to get/apply for a visa since we are confined on-base.

Again, "The reason I ask is because there is no way for us to get/apply since we are confined on-base." WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GO OFF-BASE. Thanks for your replies though.
