About:China Student Visa

how do I go about getting approval to work as a student for a short time?

I have an X and I have translated it into a temp. residence permit. I am a graduate student and another school wants me to work for them over the summer. They want to pay me and the pay goes towards living expenses mostly. They wanted to give me an F. I don't think that is the right visa either.
Anyway, It is only 3 months not during the semester.

Does your residence permit covers the 3 months? if yes, I think it is ok not to apply for an F then.

My visa is good until 2016 but they said that I can't work without some sort of work type. Just wondering how you do that.

You can try to contact the school who wants to hire you for this. As I know, they need to report your employment status to the local police.
