About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Stopping in 2 cities - 72h Visa

I've met a guy who was flying in the last 3 months from Phnom Phen to Guangzhou and then to Beijing and then back to Europe and he said that in Guangzhou they gave him a 72h visa for the whole country.

I have exactly the same case, I bought the tickets for the following journey Paris -> Guangzhou (2h) -> Beijing (55h) -> Manila
Manila -> Guangzhou -> London

so the total time between landing in Guangzhou for the first time and taking off in Beijing is still under 72h..
As long as this guy sounds very credible, I cannot find any info on internet confirming it, what's more I keep getting mismatched answers, some saying yes, some saying no..
I'm flying in May so still enough time to create a visa thou.. I know that at least one person in the world didnt need it so I hope that's a law and not just a border control mistake.
Cheers!

I think you'd better confirm this with Guangzhou and Beijing Airports at 0086-10-56095400 and 0086-20-81101991. According to what I know, it's impossible to enjoy 72 hours free transit if you pass by two cities.

I will and try to post it here. That's the visa he received when landing in Guangzhou and then got transferred to Beijing. So normally they stamp "is valid in Guangzhou" but he received "is valid in China",
thou he got a 24h one..

Hi, 24 hour transit & 72 hour transit is not the same thing. If your stopover is longer than 24hours, you can not avail 72 hour free transit permit.
