About:China Visa

Is Visa required for US citizen sailing into Shanghai and leaving via airport same day?

We will be on a cruise from Singapore to Shanghai and leave Pudong airport the same day we disembark the ship.

I think you should apply for one. If you go to Shanghai by boat and leave within 24 hours in the same way, you won't be asked for it.

Hi Deb, I am taking a similar cruise in 2018 that you cited here (6 countries total visited). The answer you received was a little vague, so I'm wondering if you can tell me what you did back in 2014...did you need a Chinese Visa, or did you qualify for the 144-hour Visa Exemption and save yourself the $140 cost of the Visa?

Thanks!
