Transit Visa for Cambodian wife

My wife holds a Cambodian passport and has a UK permanent resident card. As a UK passport holder I can apply for a 72 hour free stay, however will my wife be allowed the same or will she have to apply for a tourist L?

Your wife needs to apply for either a tourist L or a transit G type in advance.
