HK(/Thailand) => Beijing => France

Hello,

I am a French student in China and my X expires on the 31th of July.
I'm planning to leave to HK (or Thailand) for a few days, and then go back to Beijing to take my flight to Paris.
If I fly from Beijing to Paris within 72h, can I enjoy a visa-free transit? Even if I stay one night at the hotel?
