About:Tipping in China

Tipping driver(non-tour)

What is the recommended tip amount for non-english speaking driver to pick us up from airport to hotel and the next day from hotel to train station? We have 6 people so needed a van instead of trying to take two taxis. Do we have to tip per day or just one tip on the second day to cover both days?

If you pay for the money per day, I think you should give tips each time you pay. If you pay for the money on the second day, then I think you can give tips to him on the second day. It's difficult to say how much you should tip him. I think it's ok for each of you give 1 USD per day. So I think 70 or 80 RMB is enough for two day.

We are paying upfront in one payment for the driver to pick up from airport and then, next morning to drop off at train station. So I guess ~10% tip based on estimate tip amount you provided.
