About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

US Passport but living in Seoul

If I have an official US passport... but currently living in Seoul under a work visa. I have a flight from Seoul TO Beijing and if the flight is going back to Seoul in under 72 hours, does the 72 hour Free transit apply?

No, you have to apply for a Chinese visa in advance. This free transit does not apply to return trip.
