China Visa required if birthplace is Hong Kong on Canadian passport

Hello,

I'm wondering if it is needed to visit China if my Canadian passport says the birthplace of Hong Kong. I read about this exemption before but cannot find it online anymore. Please let me know!

Thank you,
Grace

I am afraid you need to apply for a Chinese visa in advance according to your purpose of visit. Your HK-born status will not be sufficient to enjoy exemption.
