About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

I and my family will be traveling to Singapore and we have a layover each way in Beijing of 12 hours.

We would like to use that time to go out into the city to eat and maybe go to a museum. Do we need to get a visa for each of the layovers?

Yes, you enjoy 72 hours free transit in Beijing and then you can get out of the airport to visit Beijing as you wish.
