About:Chinese Paper-cut Museum

Am I allowed to go out and stay in hotel during the time between my flights?

I m an indian and going back to India from Japan. i was here for six months. i have 21 hours stay at shangai pudong airport and i wanna know if i will be allowed to go out and stay in a hotel during that time. i dont have Chinese visa but it seems few of my friends have already got the stay permit after reaching there. i was wondering anyone there can help me so that i could confirm the room in hotel.

If you want to get out of the airport and stay at a hotel, you should apply for the stay permit when you arrive. After you get it, you will be allowed to stay out of the airport.

Thanx for the reply. the problem is that I wanna reserve the room in a hotel but if I was not given the stay permit, my reservation will be lost too... I wanted to know if it is possible to get the stay permit for the Indians in china after applying it on the airport.

Generally speaking, you won't have problem when you apply for it. But please remember that the immigration officer has the final say. They will decide whether you will get it or not.
