About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is this allowed if i want to get a visa on arrival at Beijing?

I want to book a flight from Vientiane (Laos) to Beijing, with a stop of 4 hours in Kunming. One day later i fly from Beijing back to Europe.

How long will you stay both in Kunming and Beijing? If it is less than 24 hours and you have air ticket back to Europe, you won't be required to apply for a transit type visa. However, you should apply for a stay permit when you land at Kunming Airport.
