About:Chinese Consulate in San Francisco

What documents do I need.

My husband is working in China right now and I will be joining him in January. He currently has a business visa and will be converting it to a work type when I arrive. I was wondering what I need to do before I go. What type do I apply for here? Do I need to get a physical before I go? I will be going to Hong Kong first fo abot a week, then to Shanghai for a week and the rest of my stay will be in Beijing for about six months. Please help.

Hi, as I know, you can get a long term visit visa only if you husband resides in China on work Z and residence permit. If he is now on a business type one, you can only apply for a tourist L, for a short stay of 30 days perhaps. So, you are suggested to apply for S1 type when he gets his work Z.
