do i need a transit visa for transit at Kumming airport

I am traveling to nepal from canada to see my fiance there and have 2 stops one i know dont need G typ one. it is shanghai but the other is Kumming i have a 4 hour wait there to get my plane to shanghai. thanks hope i get a response fast i leave dec 26
