Foreign student in china with a valid residence permit to lhasa through train then flight to Nepal?

Hi! I want to go to lhasa via train from Shanghai and then want to go to Nepal via air. I have no intentions to get around Tibet for tourism.
i) Is it possible?
ii)Can I buy the tickets to Nepal on getting to lhasa?
