About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flight from Moscow to Shanghai with 72 hour stop-over and flight to Singapore

Hi, I am arriving in Shanghai from Moscow on the 23rd at 10am and have a flight from Shanghai to Singapore (stopover Kuala Lumpur) on the 26th at 9am. Can I use the 72-hour Visa-free Transit for this? Can I apply to this at the airport in Shanghai upon my arrival?

Hi, you can avail this free transit permit. But you should better inform your carrier airline before boarding the plane, then the permit will be issued on arrival at Shanghai Airport.

I know it says one should tell the airline im the faq section of thr embassy. However, it seems this is often very difficult (because the airlines are not familiar with this process) and also not absolutely necessary. Do you base your answer on experience?

Hi, don't worry, if the airlines allow to to board the plane without visa, you can also get this free transit permit directly after arrival.
