If you have flight that departs within 24 hours from Beijing to Vietnam, I think you shouldn't have a problem because you can enjoy 24 hours free transit in Beijing. You mentioned that you are greencard holders. What kind passport you hold? I heard before that some nationals were required to hold a G type even though they meet the requirements for 24 hours.

Did the airport tell you why you were refused to get in?

Thank you for the reply first, the airport said because we dont have the passport. Yes, we dont have u.s passport or even the vietnamese passport just greencard, social security numbers, and the visa , that's all. You was mentioned about the G type for transit travelers right? Can you tell me how to get that, please?

That's the problem. You should have one passport. I am a bit confused. If you don't have the passport, how could you apply for the one for Vietnam? A valid passport is a must for your application.

Sorry, a valid passport is required for this transit in China. Maybe you have to renew your passport first.
