indian national future student in shanghai its is possible to invite special person?

hi my lover is taking his masteral here in philippines and the 2nd semester would be in shanghai early next year,,, and we are planning to see each other there next year.. what would be our steps/or procedure of applying visa. he will invite me and i will stay in his place. please reply to my query

Yes, you can visit him, but you need to apply for a Chinese visa with invitation letter and copies of his visa, residence permit and bank statement if he will shoulder all your travel expenses. Round-trip ticket is also required.

Hi there, you don't need the bank statement, all you need is flight ticket and hotel bookings, if you are staying at his as you said, get the invitation letter, copy of his passport and his current valid visa.

hi, thank you to you reply. it helped me a lot.. i have one more problem he has no bank statement coz he is still student… but he is using debit card by his mom. and he carried cash during his stay just like here in the philippines.

If you apply in the Phlippines, bank statement is required if you visit China for the first time. And you are advised to visit the embassy directly for more details as the consular officers there have the final say to your application.

i don't have bank statement what alternative i can do. if there is one on arrival can i do that and extent my stay??? or can his family support me in my documents though they will not going to stay in shanghai coz my lover has newly opened account.
